Legacy Willow Bend Flats project is a 30-unit independent living expansion of the existing Legacy senior living community. The landscape design of the pocket parks between three buildings extends the indoor living spaces outdoors, where residents can gather for breakfast, tea, lunch, or yoga classes.

Smaller, more intimate spaces within the pocket parks are created with planting and changes in grade. Amenities in these spaces include fire pit, trellis, fountains and outdoor seating. The fountains are in axis with the street entrance to both the parks providing pleasant sound. Bioswales adjacent to the parking areas will filter pollutants from stormwater and increase groundwater recharge. This feature also creates and additional layer of screening from Spring Valley Road in addition to the proposed Magnolia hedge along the street.

A 0.25-mile trail around the flat building will provide residents with a safe and accessible walking route close to the building. Plant palette along the trail includes grasses, perennials and mature trees, that will attract pollinators.
